The Excel plug-in i s apart of the Glasshouse Office/Word installer.

this plug-in gives you a series of features inside Excel, that allows you to pull data from a Glasshouse view to Excel. Here you can make changes and use all of your great Excel skills to manipulate the data, and when ready push the data you wish back into Glasshouse.
After installation, you can find the Glasshouse features in the top Ribbon under the tab “Glasshouse”.

Below are listed the basic steps for getting data from Glasshouse to Excel, and pushing updated data back to Glasshouse.
Step 1: Import data
When you want to start up, you should import all the data from the view you want to work with.
this can best be achieved by following these steps:
- Make sure you have the right project and view selected.
- Select the cell that you wish to be the top left of the inserted data.
This cell must be within the top 10 x 10 cells in the top left part of the excel sheet. - Click the “Get View Entries” button in the Glasshouse ribbon, to insert all rows and columns from the selected view.
- You can now remove any columns you do not wish to work without – Except the first column “GlassHouseJournalGUID”. Deleting entire column will not change the data in Glasshouse.
Please note the importance of the first column “GlassHouseJournalGUID” is kept as the first row, as this is they key between
Step 2: Get updated data from Glasshouse
If you want to update the data in Excel, with data from Glasshouse, do the following:
- Make sure you have the right project and view selected.
- At the top of the columns you wish to update from Glasshouse, just below the header, set the cell value to “Get from Glasshouse” (use the dropdown).
- Click the “Read” button in the Glasshouse ribbon.
- The data gets updated. This includes new rows being added and deleted rows will be crossed out to mark they have been deleted
Please note that any columns marked with “Push to Glasshouse” will not be updated. See more on this below.
Step 3: Updating data in Glasshouse
When you have data in Excel that is edited and you wish to push it back into Glasshouse, you can do the following:
- Make sure you have the right project and view selected.
- At the top of the columns you wish to push to Glasshouse, just below the header, set the cell value to “Push to Glasshouse” (use the dropdown).
- Click the “Update” button in the Glasshouse ribbon.
- The data is now updated in Glasshouse.
